Saw a few jobs online advertised by these people http://www.hallmarkrecruitment.co.uk/ and applied but for 4 weeks now they haven't had a website nor could I find them at companies house.
At the address they are at there is a company called HALLMARK GROUP limited who according to the net trade in coins and medals.
It seems very odd this agency is called the same 'Hallmark'
I reported them to Totaljobs as all the adverts seem really fishy and all the contacts have African names
Totaljobs seems to think they are legit but something doesn't seem right. No site up untill this week and no registration number (none that I could find)
On there site here : http://www.hallmarkrecruitment.co.uk/initiatives.html
It says 'Hallmark Recruitment works with several charitable organisations in East Africa and are commits a share of our profits to the region.'
Now this could all be above board but why would a recruitment agency here in London support organisations in Africa?
What do you think?

Total jobs reply
Thank you for your email, apologies for the delay in responding to you.
Totaljobs.com carry out sufficient checks to ensure a company is genuine. Companies house can also be unreliable as they update their online database annually, which means at times it can be out of date. Hallmark Recruitment is a relatively new company.
For this information you would have to contact the company direct as this is not something we would supply to jobseekers.0 -
Hi,
Be very, REPEAT VERY, wary of this outfit. A big scam fake finance brokers by the name of Hallmark Finance of Trafalgar House, Grenville Place, Barnet, NW7 3SA who have defrauded numerous people over a long period of time with upfront fee charges for loans that never materialised have recently shut down and fled their offices. The guy behind it all is called Anthony Franks and has usesd the aliases Lloyd Green, Richard Marriott, Simon Davis and others. This Hallmark Recruitment could well be linked to him, but I can't say with certainty. Either way, best advice stay clear, send no money, and always have alarm bells ringing when countries or individuals from Africa are mentioned, especially Nigeria.

I work at Hallmark Recruitment and can 100% state we are not connected with the company McGoohan has mentioned.
Directors of Hallmark Group are some of our major shareholders and is the reason our UK offices are at the same location and we share a brand name. Hope that explanation helps.
To explain our model (and please check our website for further information - hallmarkrecruitment.co.uk we operate exactly the same way as any other agency in terms of how we relate to our clients and candidates and the process we follow. The difference is that due to our operations being centred out of East Africa (and we are a British company registered at companies house, feel free to check) we offer a significantly lower cost to use our services rather than competitors. To be clear: we recruit for British companies and we work with UK based candidates - however we handle the process from remote.
This obviously benefits our clients, as they find the same candidates through us as by using a different agency, but by using us they simple end up paying less. We also only ever charge on success, so if we don't successfully fill a role, we don't charge.
The benefits to our candidates works in a similar way; because we charge less, companies that wouldn't normally use an agency for support are happy to use us. This means we can offer more roles to our candidates.
In terms of "supporting organisations in Africa", we donate a percentage of our profits to charitable organisations (which we closely vet to make sure they are effective and honest) to improve education (for the most part) in the region. There are links on our website under the "initiative" tab, which is soon going to be updated with our current drives and what we're doing.
If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to call us on the number listed on the site or email me directly on guiam.wainwright@hallmarkrecruitment.co.uk
Kind regards,
Gui0
