Local Mortgage Broker recommendations

Hi

My mortgage term runs out at the end of March and am looking at possible mortgage options currently. I'm looking for a reliable Mortgage broker who covers Southampton. Not worried about face-to-face. Would like fee-free, but, hey. Any recommendations?

Can you ask any friends or family for recommendations?

Thanks for your reply...I have asked about...one mentioned L&C, a couple of others mentioned local brokers that I've never heard of, I'll keep looking.

If you are not worried about face to face then does the broker really need to be local?

Often you will find a better service from a smaller broker firm than the likes of L&C but there are plenty of people happy with L&C as well as plenty not happy with them.

Have you asked your current lender what they can offer you when your fix expires?

I have asked my current lender who can offer a preferential rate (a 2 yr Tracker 2.45% with no fees borrowing £122k LTV 71%) so long as we stick £500 into an account we have with them. This is so that I guess the system can say that we bank with them. But as ever (being an MSE'er) I don't know that this is the best deal out there...Having said that I have done all the research I can on the internet.
