First of all - I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place!
I'm currently working in a Youth Club ages from 6-18yrs (different nights) and would like to tap everybodys brains for ideas.
We provide a good program of different activities - but I feel we could be doing more!
I use a couple of sites for ideas like DLTK and Enchanted Learning but was wondering if anybody knew anymore?!
I'm looking for ice breakers, games, arts & crafts etc..
Also if there is any other youth workers who would like to share experiences I would be really grateful!
Thanks in advance!

Have a couple of icebreakers that have worked in an office environment - pretty generic so should work for kids too. Hope the instructions are clear
1 a) Write a card for each person, including their name and three questions to ask (eg favourite hobby, favourite book, best friend's name, etc)
b) give cards out - ensuring person named does not get their own card
c) Recipient of card must find person named and get answers to the questions
d) after a set time (10-15 mins) each person reports back what they have discovered about their named person
2 Separate into groups and make a collage from magazine pictures that represents each person in the group, either individual collages or single group one.
3. Variation of pass the parcel. Wrap a group gift (packet of sweets to be shared at end of game) in as many layers as there are group members - each layer to include a question for person opening layer to answer about themselves (similar questions to option 1). Once someone has opened a layer they drop out of the game, this gives everyone a chance to open and answer a question. At the end of the game share out the group pressie.
Hope this helps

Hiya - I'm a youth worker and we have loads of activities we run. We have some of them on our website if you want to have a look http://www.notbored.net/buildpage.php?id=19
if you have a wooden/lino floor especially check out the rules for Lego Bowls - it was invented by one of our workers - the kids love it
If you have any specific themes that you want ideas for, feel free to pm me, we have all our activites over the last few years in a huge portfolio. They range from fun stuff to ideas around more serious issues.0 -
