Next item scanned twice

Hi,
I brought a few bits in the sale on boxing day and have just looked at my receipt and seen that one item has been scanned twice.
Also a security tag has been left on a different item. The alarm did not go off when I exited the shop. Although I now know why I was setting off the alarm in Boots.
I don't know what to do, it so annoying.
Will they refund me for the item which has been scanned twice?
What should I do?

In the previous sale I had a teddy that I'd paid for and on receipt, but when got home wasn't in the bag. I think was only £2. Went back next day and explained and they refunded me. You can but ask!0

worth a shot but they may query why it's taken so long
they should remove the tag though if you've got a receiptYes Your Dukeiness0 -
This happened to me a few years back although I did not bother to go back as did not feel I could prove it. Worth a try though.
What I can say is though the sale after that, they did not scan one of the items when I checked receipt so sometimes things work out.
With Next sale I check over and over before leaving store as everytime something goes wrong. Tried to charge me twice in the last sale but I already had counted how many items I had in my hand rather than totalling up the price.
She had one too many items on her list so knew instantly one had gone through twice and I was right.
Despite this still got home and one item had tag on as didnt beep when leaving store and another was full price not sale.0 -
Hi
From a similar experience I had in the previous sale they should refund you if they charged u double for a particular item. Each item apparently has an individual bar code so on your reciept you should have the same bar code twice. Worked perfect in my case hope it helps you out too. Good luck0 -
They should do. It might be worth phoning them up with the date/ time of your receipt so that they can look at the cctv footage of your transaction and count out how many items you have bought. Thats what we used to do when I worked in retail0

Can't help on the charged twice thing but with regards the security tags this seems to be a real problem with next. I bought an item with the security tag still on which didn't cause the alarm to go off. I went into the next shop Boux Avenue and set their alarms off, I looked quizzically and they laughed and said you've just bought something in Next haven't you - apparantly it happens all the time!!!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I was charged twice for an item in M&S on Boxing day, I was refunded the £3 but I went back as soon as I could - within 48 hours. Try asking, the worst that will happen is a refusal.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

this has happened to me a few times once on my receipt it had a jacket down twice at £25. and i only had one just the receipt back and told them and they gave me my money back no problems, and it happened to me again on boxing day 2011 and i got my money back again, i think they know these things happen0
