Is interest in HPC waning?

In response to someone posting that CC was going to die if they didn't get some more members the Webmaster posted these stats:
Talk about Jackanory. :rotfl: There are two members on there right now so to think that 220 thousand people would be popping in to see what the same 6 or so posters have said is stretching it a bit.
I am tempted to drop an email to their advertisers to ask them to have a look on the site at any time and see if they can find more than 10 members on the entire site.

Happy New Year!
Thought I would look back and share the 2011 stats for the creditcrunch.co.uk website.
This data is for 9 months only, as for 3 months in 2011 the stat gatherer was not working.
Not bad though,

Certainly not with me!
I'm still as equally disinterested as I ever was.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

No interest is not waning.
This is because there were only ever about 4 people who were interested it in at all, and they still regularly ruin this board with sh!te threads about what is happening "over there" as if it is of any interest to any half-normal person.0 -

You are right but I am willing to learn.Still seems unlikely to me that with around 10 posts a day from roughly the same people that 100k different people a year would come on to see them (and with return visits that's nearly 700 per day).

Well thats because its' not 100k different people a year.
Unique visitors is poor data in all honesty....for every site. It relies on people never clearing their cookies and only ever using one computer.
But I was replying more to your talk of actually writing to advertisers. Firstly, it would be incredibly sad, on a scale I've yet to see on here. Secondly, it's google ads. It's not direct advertising where the advertiser chooses the site.0 -
interest is probably waning because a lot of people have been waiting a long time for a big crash and it hasn't happened
sooner or later you have to get on with your life and buy that house, as many frequentors of these forums are realising'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'

Well it might seem extremely sad to you but the Webmaster banned at least one poster who had done nothing wrong (not me actually although most would say that I was banned unfairly) and I would just love to see the site implode. Can't lie about it (and if the advertising revenue was removed then it surely couldn't survive).
It is claiming 250k visitors per year on its site and yet I can never find more than about 10 over there and they have intentionally obfuscated the figures by saying something like "number of visitors over the last 90 minutes" - otherwise it would be clear to all that the usual number is around 5 or less and the maximum around 10 - no way that could attract any curious visitors I don't think (or at least not more than once).0 -

Oh right. I didn't realise it was quite such serious business.
My apologies for calling it sad.0 -

That would be me then .....
The HPC hasn't happened since 1990 ..... I was in that one, buying and selling - it was tough.
Nothing, nothing, bar a poxy redress to 2006 prices has happened since.
Only a single year, 2007, stands out as a peak ...... 2012 and it's back to the usual.
No crash to come - quite the opposite in fact.
No crash happening now ........
HPC Site is populated by people who gambled their family home AND LOST!!
They face a lifetime of renting - or buying back into the market at a lower level than the one they left ...... as their funds have disappeared buying their Landlords house for them!!
The world is made up of losers and winners ..... they have lost in this game of chance.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0
