Hi - welcome to MSE!
I used to work for AQA until I realised my day job just wasn't leaving me enough time to do it. You get paid per question (30p when i was doing it, not long ago) so the more you work the more you can earn. It's partly about answering strange questions with factually correct answers, for example for people cheating in pub quizzes, debating something with their mates or looking for train times etc. And it's partly creating answers to bizarre ego type questions, like "when will Jim and I get together".
There's a fair amount of effort involved in getting selected and getting set up, so be realistic about how much time you have to be able to do this. It's busiest weekend evenings, late friday and saturday nights. Other times of the week you can be waiting for questions to come in which obviously slows down the earning rate. I really enjoyed it because the research element suits my personality. But because my real job involves very early mornings and long days I just wasn't able to work during busy periods and it wasn't worth it any more. But if you enjoy this kind of research and are otherwise going to be kicking your heels at home or out spending money then it's a nice flexible way to earn a bit extra - and every little helps!

Would agree with the above!!
Is quite hassly work to start - getting accepted and getting set up, I had to apply twice which doesn't appear to be uncommon. Once I was accepted can be quite nice little earner but depends how much time and effort you have to put in - evenings are the best time otherwise as said above can be v slow and not very worthwhile.
had my account frozen due to inactivity but was reasonably easy to restart so am going to be go go go again now!
Good luck!!DFW Nerd #1310 -
If you have the test questions, you need to get them done and sent back asap or you will miss the boat. I've been working for them for a month, it is definitely worth doing.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

The thing that put me off is that I couldn't seem to see whether they are doing your tax and national insurance for you. Is this the case?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

No, you have to register as self employed and do your own tax.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

It is worth doing. I is quite fun and it is easy to earn a nice amount of pocket money. It has paid for my laptop which mean I can "do" AQA whilst sitting on the sofa next to dh whilst he watches telly. I find it far more enjoyable than watching telly and would really miss it if I stopped doing it.
You don't get paid particularly well, but there is no limit to how much or how little you do.
They are very very fussy about spelling etc, which is where I struggle.
Good luck.

I do it too, and have been doing for 4 months now. I love it, and in many ways don't just do it for the money (though of course, that helps). Am putting 22% away for tax and keeping records of what i'm earning for the tax man. Hurrah! Exempt from paying NI for the time being unless I expect to earn around £4k a year (no chance, too much time at my main job for that!)0

I've been with AQA since the end of July and it has been a god send. It has helped me clear my debt a whole lot faster than I would have been able to do otherwise.
Spelling, content, length of answer and grammar are key. I think I remember from my application that the questions had to be returned within 48 hours of receiving them.
You will need to register as self employed but that is really simple. I do it as a second job and after the initial training and reading the handbook it is a good earner if you can put the hours in.
I'm also probably going to earn about 4k a year.0 -
