Toiletry Stash

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone else has ended up with a huge amount of toiletries either on purpose or by accident.
I seem to have millions of untouched bottles and tubs and was just curious if anyone else does and if you do, what type of things do you have a stash of?
I'll just sort through what I've got and then make a list and post it.
I'm thinking it'll be good to take stock of what I have as I'm moving out soon and thought it'd be good to know what I have and won't need to buy for a while and also thought it'd be good to get ideas of other useful things to gradually build up a stash of.
I'm hoping using what i have and knowing what I have will mean I will have to spend less when I move out!

There is a challenge on the Debt free wanabee forum, people are trying to not buy toiletries for the month of January. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3708739
Honestly, my weakness (that I never knew I had til I wrote an inventory of products) is shower gel and body moisturisers! I have about 25 tins tubs tubes and packets of moisturiser that I never use, and about 12 shower gels!
I don't even use many products, it's shocking the amount I have. Not as bad as some though, that's my excuse!!Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

There is also a very long running monthly no buying toiletries three on the health and beauty board. I used to be a regular on that, and I took on and beat my stash! I really recommend it.0

Oh My Goodness, what a list.
I love pampering myself with the range of products out there, but recently have worked on the following - daily needs to get clean - SM own brand of baby bath was 0.11p when I last bought it.
If I'm entertaining (you know what I mean) something a bit more special - stocked up on my favourite smelling products when on offer (but only a couple of bottles)
I don't go in for the specialised products - a soak in the bath, an old flannel is good for ex-foliation and regular moisturising gets rid of hard skin.
My weakness is perfume and if I see my fav on offer I buy another bottle but rarely have more than 2 as a backup to the one I'm using.
I've always been led to believe that products have a use buy date and they lose their perfume/effectiveness after a while, but I may be wrong.Jan - Mar Grocery spends = £225.20

May - Grocery spends = £8.250 -
I too recommend the health and beauty board thread on this. Plus, try to get it all in one place. Whenever you run out of an item or think of shopping for something look in that place first - you'll save tons :T"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

I still have to list everything I have but at present I have almost 200 items of various creams, lotions, moisturisers, body butters, scrubs, (40) shower gels, 8 shampoo and conditioner sets, multiple baby shampoo's, bubble baths, deodorants etc. I have 2 of those plastic tower storage units stuffed to the brim with things. All were bought heavily reduced or on glitches from say the Body Shop last year.
This does not include the 2 make up drawers I also currently have along with a vanity case and a small organiser of daily make up items. Oopsie
I am definitely using as much as possible up before buying any more.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll move it to the Health & Beauty Board to see if you get more replies
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

I too have a huge stash of smellies, due in some part to having a birthday 11 days after Xmas!!
Hubby always gets me a Lush hatbox and this year also got me the S&G bag from Boots (£25 instead of £60). Also had lots of gift sets from family and friends of various brands. I put my had up and admit I have also bought a couple of sets of S&G in the Boots 50% off sale as it was £8 for the EDT and body butter whereas the EDT alone is normally £15-£16!
I absolutely love S&G though, especially the Hand Food, have a large tube on the go at home and a mini tube in my handbag.
Currently working through all the odds and sods that are lying around half used. So far this year have used up and thrown away 9 items. I have found it helps to have all of these things in a basket in the bathroom, they are the things I HAVE to use 1st and if there isn't anything suitable in there I can open a new item. I seem to have about 4 packs of face wipes open, 3 moisturisers, a couple of eyecreams and countless bath and hair products. Have also downsized my make-up bag, DD helped herself to a couple of items!!.
Used to have a similar problem with household cleaning products but now down to Stardrops, Zoflora, bleach and white vinegar, shame they don't do stardrops for the body!!!!!!!

I am a complete toilettries addict but decided enough was enough and am slowly using up all the stuff which I have built up over time so I can streamline it all down a bit. My toilettries are taking up too much room and there is no need for me to have so many loitions and potions.
At the moment I'm trying really hard to only buy things that I actually need once Ive run out and don't have anything of that kind in my stash.
My particular problem is body lotions. I don't think I will need to buy one for about twenty years! Its not even that I keep buying them more that people keep giving me gift sets as presents which have them in. For Christmas alone I ended up with 10 body lotions of various kinds!!!!!! I have had to start religiously applying it everyday in an attempt to use them all up.One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170
