State Pension Date

I have just received my state pension forecast. I am 65 on 4th April 2012.
My forecast states that I will be paid in arrears every 4weeks starting from the 10th April 2012. I therefore am not paid a pension from the 4th to 10th April. I queried this with the pensions office who said that as my 'payday' is a Monday (based on my NI number) I, like everybody else, lose the period from my pension date up to my first 'payday'!!!!
Looking on the official Goverment Pension site all it says is that I will be paid in arrears at the end of my pay week, not from the start. It makes no mention that I, or anybody else, will lose days at the beginning of their retirement.
Is this correct (if so it should be amended) or have the Pensions people misinterpreted the rules?

yes its the way its done; but if you make sure you die on a Monday then your beneficiaries get the benefit of your pension until the following Sunday0

If you're on ESA or Jobseekers you will be paid the lost six days.0

How much is 4 days of state pension? Can't be much?
Surely between now and then you could save it by cutting out a coffee or three etc?0 -
OH lost 6 days when he retired, I think that was about £130 at that time, with SERPS etc.0
