House prices at the bottom end of the market are now falling faster in Britain than Spain, according to a comprehensive survey of the biggest house price indices.
But house prices continue to rise at the top end of the market, with an average increase of 3.4pc over the last year among the most expensive fifth of properties. By contrast, the cheapest fifth of properties saw prices fall by 5.1pc over the year, compared to a 1.9pc decline over the same period in Spain.

Spain can still expect a much larger property crash. Unlike the UK, in addition to a weakening economy they also have an over-supply of properties."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0

Hello? That's the BTL sweet spot isn't it? Does this spell the end of pelvic thrusting from the 'gunning' brigade?0 -
No one spotted it yet?

So, house prices in the North of England and Wales are going down faster than house prices in Spain.0

Unfortunately the blokes a bit dim, so I've had to point out the figures to him!
Maidstone
Average house price
£231,810
Detached £378,801
Semi-detached £210,241
Terrace £173,562
Flat £137,548
Annual change in house price
-7.5%0 -

It does seem odd, its only London that is defying gravity, everywhere else is falling.
Well (to phrase it like MrRee would) I've a friend who works down there who says Maidstone of full of Chavs walking Pitbulls. Entertainment is a fight in a Nightclub or Pub on a Friday or Saturday night. It doesn't sound particularly 'inviting' but probably is Sibbers thing.0 -
This report is nearly 1 year old ....... things have changed BIG time!!
Chavvie Council Estates, full of benefit loving scroungers, are falling in price .... of course they are - who wants to live in a hellhole if they have the chance to get out?
Winners get out and buy in a leafy suburb in Hampshire or on the Coastal stretches of Dorset .... losers stay landlocked in pockets of pondlife - just how it is, I'm afraid.
Comfortable Living Allowance is getting cut from the Chavs and scroungers ..... GOOD!
Reward those who lift their rear ends off their sofa's and contribute to society is what I say!!
Consequently, house prices in the South will always rise ... whilst those in the North will fall - but, eventually, soon, they will rise there too and then you can rejoice in the continued wealth being drip fed downwards.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -

I thought you lived in Pattaya Sibley. It most certainly is NOT nice there.
Being a chav in Pattaya would put you at the top of the social ladder. It's a city which exists only to house Thai prostitutes, fat ugly and lonely men who travel the world to use them, and very dodgy Russian gangsters on the run from Interpol. Oh, and Iranian and Indian tourists on a budget, of course.0
