The Rent A room Scheme & council tax

I am an OAP age 65 on my own and thinking of renting a room on The Rent A Room Scheme

My question is I get 25% off my council tax as a single occupant if I rent a room will I still get my 25% off, also I own the house with no mortgage

No you would lose the 25% discount - unless they were a student as then they would be exempt from council tax so you could still claim as the only eligible person in the property.
