Quick Question About First Time Buyers

Hi everyone
Me and my wife are starting to look at buying a house in the near future and I just have a quick question about whether or not we'll be defined as first time buyers.
Back in 2004 I owned a house with my then girlfriend for a year with a mortgage and then we sold it as we split up and went our separate ways.
Now I'm looking at buying again will me and my wife be classed as first time buyers or because I previously had a mortgage will it change our circumstances?
Many thanks.

For stamp duty purposes you are not first time buyers because one of you has previously owned property. For mortgage purposes you may be but it doesn't really make any difference.0
