Why don't you look on the sainsburys website to find out?
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Could you try living without it for a while? Or do you need it for camourflage reasons, to disguise a birthmark maybe?

Could, but wouldn't want to would be my answer :D

Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Easter coming up............if any of those are occasions when you are lucky enough to receive a gift, I would be dropping heavy hints from now on for specific items you have already earmarked or for Boots vouchers!!

Terrible to lose it all, but exciting opportunity to build up a perfect pared-down kit from scratch (the hideous cost notwithstanding!)

lol @ Bronnie, my thoughts exactly:D

You could try Revlon Colourstay foundation (about £12) and all other products from Boots 17, which are great quality and very low priced, some also like their foundation but I haven't tried it, would still probably work out better than Sainsburys - sorry about your make up:( dd lost hers the other day, Nars and Lancome included, it was a very sad day:(
Thank you for this site Martin
The time for change has come
    Good luck for the future
  • ELF cosmetics were recommended on MSE and so I tried them and found them to be great value.

Very reasonable prices and I have found the quality to be very good.
HTH to rebuild your make-up bag!

Maybe its a good time to think of it as staring a whole new look! Book in to a makeup counter and get some ideas (Mac, Chanel, Benefit- whatever sort of look you want) they may suggest a few things, colours and etc and you have the option to hold off and save for a sort of 'capsual' makeup wardrobe, making it all the more special as it was something you saved for, or get lower priced versions of some/all of the items.

I've no idea where has offers on at the moment, last thing I bought was a mascara back in November when I was caught-short (out with no mascara insert scream and rolley eyed smiley here!).

Body Shop sometimes have "spend X get X off" vouchers so it could be worth keeping an eve out for those as they appear as till spilts. The Sunday/Saturday Telegraph also sometimes have Bodyshop vouchers on so worth checking the weekend newspapers thread on the discounts board.

Get enough on yo or will beur Boots card you can cash it all in on makeup, apparently they are yet to have the 75% sale but if there is any makeup left in stores near you is anyones guess its a bit of a gamble. I'm not sure but last time I was in they had £5 No.7 vouchers which could be of use to you- they have overall average to good products IME. Not a wide colour range for foundations though (they don't do my skin colour:()

Superdrug sometimes have some good offers on, I've heard others recommend the MUA range but never used it myself so can't say. The Gosh range from Superdrug isn't too bad. Not a favorite but its OK. I can say Boots own version of that (No.17) does have some good stuff but it is a bit hit and miss. Mascaras are good.

Rimmel do excellent nail varnish, concealers for spots (very dense!) and liquid eye liners.

Bojours have some great mascaras but they can flake when they get old so replace frequently! Apparently owned by the same company as Chanel though if its the same stuff...no one knows! They (Bojours) also have great eye shadow colours as they are quite dense and don't crease. Mac are the best though IMO, no one has anything on Mac when it comes to colours and staying power! The concealers also don't look too bad with Bojours, never tried the foundations though.

Maybelline have great foundations and quite a big range for different techniques (eg matt, dewy natural) as well as a decent colour range so worth having a look. Don't really rate them for anything else though- they used to have great mascaras but they must have changed the formula as they really aren't so great anymore- too thick and clumpy to apply on fine lashes IMO.

If money were no object, I'd want to go straight to Bobbi Brown for basics like foundation, concealer and eye liner, Lancome and Dior for mascaras, Chanel and Mac for eye colours (because the pallets in Chanel look so cute!) and Clinque for eye makeup remover. Oh and a YSL Touch Elcat of course!
  • our boots had lots of no7 left in the sale and they will do a voucher at some point to get £5 off. next months ELLE has a free soap & glory mascara if you want that. the mag is £3.80 but the mascaras worth a tenner.

if you've lost it all once, it might be worth buying a set of empties and decanting small amounts into a travel kit so if that goes again, you've only lost a set of empties and a bit of make up, not all of it. i have a set of bobbi brown ones for £10 but there are loads cheaper. lancome once gave me a 10 day foundation sample in a little glass bottle thats perfect for travel too. all i take to the gym are my little bits. the stuff you get with GWPs are perfect too.

a girl i knew thought she lost her make up at the gym, went out and rebought the lot, then found her original make up bag at work when she got in from the shopping!

Hi everyone - I did a quick search but didnt see this posted anywhere else. Have just been to my local sainsburys , there was a big stand with a sign makeup £1.50 - filled with different brands, including

    Rimmel recover foundation and concealer
    Rimmel glam eyes mascara
    Rimmel extra super lash mascara

These were what I bought, also there were loads of maybelline nail varnishes, lipglosses , lipsticks.

Also in the same stand was lots of sally hansen sets of false nails, with the glue etc all included.

    Hope this helps someone!!:)
Spotted this on the grabbit thread here

If you have an idea of where you lost it ask there & at the local Police Station - folks do hand things in - worth an ask.

Don't know if you have a The Original Factory Shop near you but they seem to have really good buys on some Make-Up.
