Well I wasn't going to bother but seeing as you asked I shall offload the whole hideous tale!
Skip to the next post now as this is EPIC!!!!
We set off 3 hours late as DD2 was faffing, OH was faffing and every time I turned round I had Squeak up my bum and Dot kept screaming to be fed.. we had to drive round to my mothers to pick up the christening gown.. at which point I remembered I had not picked the insulin up out of the fridge so we had to come back and get that.. another 20 minutes later we set off... cue 2 hours 15 minutes of roadworks, Leeds/Bradford rush hour and the dark! It was 6pm we got to OHs mums.. and his sister was there... Squeak went to bed about 8:30 and just crashed.. so not too horrific.
Saturday morning we got up.. his sister was already there! This is where it gets too hideous to comprehend!.. OH and I went to pick up a pushchair for DD1 and Squeak stayed with his mum and sister who had decided they wanted to take her to the park so we had to tranfer the car seta over and show them how to use it.. and the pushchair too.. and his sister was squawking about not being able to do the clips on the pushchair.. now if I can do them ANYONE can.. unless they have no hands.. I have no strength in my hands at all.. when I pick the babies up I use my wrists and forearms!!
We got back about 1pm.. Squeak was having a nap.. they had walked her back from the park in the pushchair because the clips on the car seat were too complicated apparently!! ..erm.. yeah ok then!
After Squeaks nap they were squawking (they do squawk rather than speak) on about what was happening re picking the others up from the train which I had already sorted with OH and the offspring.. I rang my mother DS3 was there, travel sicked and they were just setting off.. at 3:30pm.. I left 8 missed calls and several textx to DD1, DS1's phone was dead and I don't have the mobile numbers for either of their partners.. I didn't know if any of them had even made the train so we didn't know whether to go collect them or not.. fortunately it is only a 15 minutes drive to get there so we went anyway while his mother fed Squeak.. it turns out Manchester Piccadilly has several entrances.. we parked at the back in the short stay CP.. they of course were out the front!!!!! We eventually found them.. got them to the travelodge which was relatively simple. We decided where we were going for dinner once my mother arrived.. no mother.. I rang.. and text.. and finally had the bright idea to ring my sister who was also in the car! Apparently they were lost, and screaming at one another in the car.. as you do.. DS3 NEEDED to eat and soon and they were screaming at one another.. the morons had booked a hotel in the centre of town rather than simply booking at the travelodge across the road pretty much from the church.. obviously being the simple option it was far too complex to comprehend! an hour later, after driving past it 1000 times they checked in and rang me.. 6pm again.. everyone is starved, DD2 had resorted to sleeping in an attempt to conserve some energy! We ended up going to collect DS3 and my sister from them as they weren't coming after I told my mother not to shout at me and she hung up the phone on me.. I am not 5 and she cannot shout at me like I am when she rang me for directions and I was helping her... ungrateful beach! So, we set off to collect sis and DS3...
In the meantime...
His mother was winding herself up to fever pitch.. his sister had got Squeak all hyper so she was crying and then witching on about putting her to bed at 6pm.... erm.. not a chance.. in the end I took Squeak away from her, told her to leave her alone and let her play.. one happy Squeak! Every time she had tried walking away to play the silly moo had grabbed her and dragged her away from her toys or tried stuffing something else in front of her.. pee's me right off! Then they were witching on about bathing her.. and I told them to leave her alone and repeatedly reminded them she is not in fact their daughter but mine! THEN.. to top it all off... his sister decided she was staying Saturday night as well.. 1 bathroom, 3 adults, 2 babies and DS3 to get up washed dressed and out by 10:15 already.. I don't think so.. She was thinking it would be ok to sleep in the room with Squeak.. who is in her own room because she doesn't sleep if there is someone else in the room.. and she sleeps with the light on!!! So she was blubbering about wanting to be there and help in the morning.. I asked who she was going to help.. Apparently me.. erm.. have I ASKED for your help? No... so what makes you think it is welcome? I don't NEED help.. I have OH and he can do one and I'll do the other... so she starts blubbering so.. I just about lost it about this point.. told her his mother had to get up and get herself to church as she did every Sunday and I am sure she could manage that and Squeak was easy enough to get ready we do that every day it takes about 5 minutes to dress why would this one day take any longer? And the baby would be picked up and manoevred into her garments because she was too little to do anything to stop us so would be easy enough to do.. OH was to drop me and the girls at the church and go pick up the others and bring them.. everything was organised and she wasn't wanted or needed.. she she flounced home after sulking and wailing and whining at OH about me being mean.. I wasn't mean.. I was firm direct and unbending!.. Definitely what she needed a LOT more of when she was growing up as far as I can see!!
Anyway.. we finally got for this meal at 7pm!!!! Ordered, explained DS3 is diabetic and they pushed our order to the top of the queue.. not bad when there were 12 of us eating! The food was nice tooIt was 10:20 when we left the pub though heeheehee... so much for their idea of getting Squeak to bed at 6pm...
Dot excelled herself by going to bed at midnight and sleeping right through until I woke her at 9:45 Sunday morning!!!!!!! Very unexpected but very very welcome!
Sunday morning.. no sister.. oh yeeeaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!
I got up at 8, washed and put my pjs back on.. Got OH and Squeak up fed and bathed her.. and washed the chocolate ice cream and vinegar out of her hair from the night before
while OH
got himself ready and had breakfast. OH was handed Squeak and her nappy and clothes so he dried and dressed her while I got my hair and slap sorted.. I then gave him Dot to change into her underwear and clean nappy while I got dressed.. I fed Dot and off we went.. 10:20am.. see.. only 5 minutes off schedule and that was probably down to having to kick OH off the laptop every time I turnged my back! OH's mum fed DS3 bacon sarnies.. that kept her busy
OH dropped the £84 cake as he was putting it in the car lol.. he is so never ever going to live that down!
My mother rang so I (me who gets lost in my own town!!) gave her directions to the church... go me! She just got there before we did so my sister took Squeak, stepdad took the car seat with Dot and I had the dresses and bags.. OH went to collect the others from the travelodge..So terribly organised!!! (his sister turned up at the church just after we got there.. ggrr)
I started putting Dot in the gown.. then burst into tears because Squeak is the only one of the 10 not to wear it.. and because 4 of the children weren't there and I wanted them there and partly because I am just a big wet goof! My sister said "what can I do?" I said slap me! lol My stepdad dressed Dot in her gown and my sister did Squeak and I went outside for some "get a grip" after his sister came and fluffed about on me and was wittering on about "what's wrong?" and trying to hug me.. at about the point I wanted to slap her!
I finally found a bit of get a grip..
Squeak was in the church creche with my sister and his sister kept trying to muscle in and monopolise Squeak.. she is so very childish.. and Squeak just kept going back to my sister lol.. amused us,I had Dot.. then we were up, down, to the front, to the back to the front to the back... !!!!!! !!! I JUST sat down and started feeding Dot and they want us all back at the front.. I just laughed.. and trotted to the front of the church in heels feeding the baby.. on video!!! lol.. you gotta laugh!
As we got to the back there was about 30 minutes left of the service.. DS3 throws a hypo on us.. his hypokit is in the car.. bright spark mummy.. nips to the back, grabs him some bickies and sat him down with those and a drink.. then Squeak started screaming.. so his !!!!!! sister runs over.. tries dragging her out of OH's arms to " you HAVE to take her out if she is screaming!!!" .. I told her "no! She is NOT going outside at 3'C, go away, she doesn't want you, she wants her daddy! If you want to do something useful go get her a biscuit" ... so she had a cob on and stomped off and was ranting at her husband.. who, from what I can gather told her to stop interfering! lol.. she got her a biscuit and Squeak was plenty happy enough with a biscuit and a daddy for the remainder of the service.
DD1 then decided it was time to start throwing up... lol.... so she was almost thrown into one of the 2 church toilets.. there was a loooooong Q 2 P at one point lol..
That was a loooooooooooong hour and a half service!!!!!!
I was so irate by this point I walked with Dot in the pushchair and my friend, DS1 and DD1 who needed fresh air.. up to the pub 5 minute walk and I ranted non-stop the entire way!!! it helped.. not as much as the vodka did once we got there mind!
To do after was really nice.. they had given us 2 rooms.. so my family commandeered one and his family got the other lol.. sociable my family!
His sister was then squawking about needing a knife to cut the cake.. and was told quite firmly she was not touching the cake, they are MY daughters and either I or OH am cutting the cake so she can bog off! It is not recommended one cuts cake when half tanked.. the pieces are NOT even! lol.. my lovely friend took overShe (with a capital S!!) Then knocked a drink over DD1's OH's crotch and proceeded to FEEL how wet his clothes were! erm.. inappropriate much? .. She shoved my sister and set her back off, which went down very well when his mother asked what my sister had done and I said nothing She shoved her and sent her back into massive spasms which might now last several days.
His mother asked them to parcel up all the left over food.. which I then told them to bin.. curly sandwich that has been sat on a table for 3 hours anyone???
OH dropped me, the babies, DD2 and DS3 at his mothers about 3:15 then collected the others and took them back to the station. We packed up our bags, I stripped the cots and got everything ready to put inthe car.. the traffic was much busier onthe Sunday than it had been the Saturday so it was 4:30 before he got back from the station.. and it was 6:30 before the car was loaded.. I just rang KH and told him I'd ring him when we got back home.
We got McD's drive through.. DS3 had a shriek about having to do his insulin in his tummy as there wasn't room to undress to do it in his thigh.. he is a pain at times.. We had to stop about 45 minutes later to change Squeak and feed Dot.. there is a wonderful foggy pic on OH's FB from the carpark.. we had to have heaters on furnace to stop the windows steaming so everyone was almost asleep.. inc OH!!! Dot started up squawking again about 12 miles from home and would not stop.. and Squeak started up about 4 miles later so we had them both screaming.. kept OH awake enough to not crash though lol.
We got home about 8:30.. KH asked if we would pick up the 3 girls.. erm.. no.. God knows where he thought we would put 3 of them in an 8 seater car with 6 people in already!
I got the kettle on then started my routine pet check.. 2 fish .. Check.. 6 cats check 5.. other one will turn up later.. 2 rabbits.. F***.... one of blasted furry beasts had sprung its mortal coil at some point between feeding yesterday and us getting home and was stiff as a board and flat as a flat thing!.. DS3's bunny... so he was devastated.. inconsiderate twatting furry beast could have waited a day or 3!
Dot screaming to be fed, Squeak screaming to go to bed, DS3 sobbing uncontrollably over the rabbit.. which sets me off cos I can't make him feel better.. and OH having to deal with the corpse which he hates doing too.. and the girls get back.. they are shunted immediately upstairs to get pjs..
Pretty crappy end to an extremely crappy weekend.. though very memorable in lots of ways.. let's face it we are not going to forget OH throwing the christening cake in a hurry! Or DD1 chucking in church.. or DS3 having a hypo.. lol.
DS3 is still sobbing this morning, but has been sent off to school and I have rang to warn his head of year/tutor and said I will get him if he is really upset but I think it will be better for him to be there than here moping!
