Does anyone use an inflatable cushion?

More than 20 yrs ago I fell down the stairs and have had problems with coccyx pain since then in varying degrees.
It was exacerbated 2 yrs ago following another fall and subsequent very, very long journeys ( about 30 hours of sitting over a few weeks.
I would love to get a cushion of sorts that I could take with me and discretely use in college etc. They have put new chairs in college and I am in almost constant pain now when sitting.
I was thinking of something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Self-Inflating-Pillow-Cushion-/320826577310?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4ab2c1119e
If anyone has any other ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

BTW I don't want a 'donut' style one as I don't want everyone to think I have piles!!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

It might also be worth looking at a wedge with the coccyx cut-out bit, that should help relieve the pressure & pain.
did a google search for 'wedge cushion with cut out' came up with loads
example from argos

I hurt my back a while ago in an accident, nothing too serious luckily, but it does play up occasionally. I bought a wedge cushion (doesn't have the cut out though) to use on my desk chair and I must say I really do notice the difference it is so much more comfortable.
I guess the only thing is that it's a bit big (though it is light) for carrying around.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
i have to use a "donut" cushion and have been for about a year and a half, im 20 and found it very embarrising at first as i have to take it work, on the bus literally everywhere. if you want to chat about it at all feel free to pm me

I have the wedge cushion with the cut out--its invaluable--really works..Mine came from the factory shop and was about £7 ..The hole at the back allows you to sit with no pressure on the bottom of the spine..it also has a handle to carry it with though it would fit in a large bag.I keep 2 in the car as well, hubby says it helps his back when he is driving...it also corrects your posture! Get yourself one-you wont regret it!I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0

Thank you for your replies. For those of you who do use the cushions, are they good for actually relieving pressure on the coccyx? I know there are some which correct your posture so that they ease lower back pain, but this tends to put a bit more pressure on the coccyx for me.
I really would like an inflatable one as I have a really heavy bag to carry to college already, plus drop my wee one off on the way to the bus so have various other bags etc. I really don't want to have to carry anything else bulky or heavy around with me.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. Was looking through a coccyxpain website and found the perfect solution! Was getting desperate as I have to travel this Friday after long Thursday sitting all day at college. Someone mentioned that they used one of those inflatable neck pillows, very slightly inflated.
It just so happens that I got 2 of those at a car boot last year for 50p each, blew one up slightly and have been using it while studying this week. Can't believe how effective it is, and there was me looking at specialist cushions for over £30, in desperation at the thought of travelling without one.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
BTW, I turn it round so that the 'gap' bit is at the back.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
