eBay or amazon?

Hi all, quick question - what's better for selling DVD's - eBay or amazon? I can't decide which to do and I have some collectors editions of some DVD's, plus some more unusual films still in their wrappings, foreign films, etc. Have sold a stack to music magpie but those seemed like i'd get more elsewhere. Can see that eBay may cost more, but on eBay if it doesn't sell and I realist I keep paying fees whereas on amazon it's on til it's gone. Not sure what to do for the best....

  • Hi tintingirl, I think the best thing to do is to work out how much you would like for each item and then look at the fees that go on after. Amazon usually charge 17.25% commission plus an 86p listing fee whereas ebay charge 10% with 3.4% Paypal commission +20p fee. (please correct me if i'm wrong by the way). If your selling something quite popular and sought after ebay is your best bet as you're going to sell it and make more, whereas Amazon you don't pay anything until it is sold, so you wont need to worry about re-listing fees. Hope this is of some help. :D
  • look out for the free listing days, or have you considered using gumtree, friday-ad etc?
