I work in HR and that's not a saying I ever use. There are all kinds of HR people and departments. I have never presumed to speak for the community.
OP, give it a go, if it worked ok for 10 months and nothing has changed, business need may be difficult for him to argue. I am not sure you have much to lose. He cannot (legally) sack you simply for asking in the correct way.
I'll give it a go and put in a written request and ask for a written response too

Good luck!0

I'm sorry to sound harsh but I totally agree.
Something like 5000 people are killed on the roads each year - does this mean you wouldn't drive or even leave the house?
Are you saying that you would not let you child have any unsupervised contact with an adult?
Where do you draw the line?0 -
I also agree about re-thinking your choice about child-minders. Sorry about what happened to your sister, but this is SO rare. A friend of mine was killed in a car crash, but that doesn't stop me driving.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I disagree on that one. If OP would never relax, then it's not the answer for her.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

I understand where your coming from but I would relax knowing my son is in a setting where each room has a camera and if there are any allegations, there is video proof.
I would not relax at all otherwise thus affecting my performance at work. My son is also having speech difficulties and iv had to move him several times trying to fit around work and this is the only nursery who help him as well as his speech therapy sessions so I'd love to keep him in his nursery, it's unfair that iv had to move him several times to make sure I'm never late or to fit around days iv been told to work.
Each time my boss had asked me to reconsider changing child carers because of work, I have without arguing. Now he is 2 and a half, it's not fair anymore. I found a nursery which fitted in with the days I requested and discussed with my boss PRIOR to making the change and all of a sudden now it has to change. This nursery is in full demand, there's a 1year waiting list and no space to shift his pattern as and when meaning I'll have to move him to favour work or look for another job. It seems as there aren't many nurseries here, the good ones have a waiting list.
Moving him to a childminder is out of the question for me. I'm sorry if it sounds stupid and it's unlikely my child will experience the same but I need to feel comfortable with whomever I leave my child with0
