TV keeps changing to widescreen when it isn't!

Whenever my dvd player, sky box and wii are switched on, my TV always displays the image in 16:9 ratio, even thought it is a 4:3 TV. The settings on the TV are 4:3 and I have altered the settings on the Sky Box to 4:3, but it always comes out in 16:9 and I have to manually change the TV each time so that the image fits properly. Everything is connected to the TV with scart leads that goe through a scart splitter that automatically detects the input.

Does anyone have and ideas about how to sort this?

No idea why that is happening but I would suggest eliminating each item by connecting them one at a time i.e. only connect sky box to tv and seeing if that works ok; if not the problem starts there then try the DVD etc.

Many DVD films are wide screen but you can go into the films menu and change the format to something more appropriate sometimes.

If all that fails try the informed people at the radio and telly forum
