On death, anything in a joint account becomes the surviving persons so they cannot then take any money out of it.See your bank.

Is the loan in your husbands name only. Does he have any other assets, car, half a house, savings. These will be used to
pay funeral costs first, then council tax debt, the last on the list is debt of this kind, if there is nothing left, they cant have anything.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Do you mean he signd as a joint loan or he put the repayment details as your joint account (e.g. DirectDebit to be taken from it)?

If its just for the repayments you can call up your bank and have them stop, or apon his death when it becomes a sole account his name will no longer be able to draw payments.

If it was a joint-loan that you both signed for then it will pass onto you.
  • Was there no PPI?
