Afternoon everyone!
I have a bottle of blackberry vinegar that I got for Christmas...any ideas on what I can use it for?
We tried it on salad as a dressing, but wasn't keen.
I am half tempted to use it for cleaning like "normal" vinegar if I can't come up with anything else!:D

Cleaning? CLEANING?
I'd be minded to use is as a marinade for roast meat. Or a baste mixed with mustard for roasting. If neither of those appeal you could use it for chutney-making if you're desperate to get shot of it: I've used cheap balsamic with wonderful results.
Or you could just give it to me......0 -
on pancakes, left over yorkshire puddings, on ice cream, i can drink it on it's own. please don't use it for cleaning, find somebody who would make use of it.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

I like it added to water or other drinks (juice, squash, cocktails). This is what I do with raspberry vinegar, anyway.0

hmmmmmm, a marinade sounds nice. I might use some of it on my next beef roast.
Don't worry Kittycat, I'll find a better use than keeping my kitchen sink clean!:D
Thanks for the ideas peeps!0 -
Take a punnet of strawberries and put them in a bowl, sprinkle over two tablespoons of caster sugar and two tablespoons of the vinegar. Mix it all around and leave it for an hour or two. Gorgeous.
Or tear some nice sourdough bread into chunks and just dip them into the vinegar, instead of serving a starter.0 -

I use my blackberry vinegar to caramelise my onions when I make Weezl's onion tart... very scrummy0
