Lots of flavours, and come with step by step instructions! With love, from someone who loves her slow cooker but is still a dummy with it after all these years!0 -

@juniorj It's a question of RIGHT FAT amounts, and in my books that is nice tasty butter, decent olive oil, decent oils. Fats and Oils are good for you it's the excess of saturated fat that is the problem, but if one goes down Margarine Land one can risk an excess of nasty transfatty acids not good either.
It is far better from a health point of view to be able to cook reliably, in a tasty delicious fashion, so you can make recipes yourself and control the fat levels. For instance you aren't gonna make easy to make Syllbub every day or Confit, but both recipes are good and nice in their time.
I think that that Big Business is causing us lots of problems by having grams per day measurements cos how the swearword are you or I to estimate them? My strategy is allot yourself portions of protein, carbo, fruit and veg etc and ration yourself to that according to your body's needs.
The Food Police are also sowing confusion which is leading to contradictory diet advice not good for us either.
So if you allot yourself x amount for protein, y amount for carbo, 5 portions of fruit and veg 500g or 100g x5 plus vitamin c, gear it up to body's needs and weaknesses ( I am an bronchial asthmatic so high fruit and veg promote lung function as well as aid digestion and transit) then you are doing ok.
ENJOYING YOURSELF I believe is key to making this all come together so you can learn to eat healthy AND TASTY at the same time!!!
(so much of what goes for low fat low cal food is tastless bland and a culinary insult)#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

A good reliable safe starting point book for you is
Good Food Magazine's Slow Cooker Recipe book here
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Food-Cooker-Favourites-ebook/dp/B005L18NAW/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1326614655&sr=8-3-fkmr1
then google slow cooker recipes and nab wonders from The Gaurdian (which I use regularly) The Broadsheets (reliable they have to be!) Chow, Epicurious all of whom do Slow Cooker recipes whilst upholding the brilliant recipe tradition(with great ingredients brought cheaply!)#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
