Doing this to help me get my accounts in order.

Afternoon everyone.
Posting a diary to help me keep track of my spending and to get help and advise of all of you good people on how to save money.
Done the budget calculator and at the moment i am earning more than i spend but i still end up wasting money that i could save.
The total amount i own on personal loans a month is 489 pound over 5 different accounts. 4 of these accounts are with the same bank so i am planning to speak to them to see if i can consolidate all the 4 loans to save on the interested i am charged. I don't want them to top up the loan or give me a longer period to pay it over but to see if all 4 loans were put together if i would save any money.
On credit cards i owe 350 on one which i use for the weekly shopping. 1000 pound on another and my other card is clear.

When looking at my budget i worked out i spend nearly 600 pound a month on food, cleaning equipment for the 4 of us. ( i am married with a 3 year old girl and 1 year old boy). This i know is a crazy amount and to tell the truth i think we don't use most of the stuff i buy. This is need to look at and do a proper food plan for the month. All so we do not drive so i use a taxi a lot. On one day every week i get a taxi from work to the station the a train to my guy and then the train back then a cab back to work to carry on my day job. This costs me 17 pound a week just for that one day. I would walk but due to the fact i can only pop out for a few hours i don't have time to walk to the station and back. To solve this problem i have moved my training day so i can now walk to the station train at the gym and then walk to work saving me 10 pound for that day. All so i used to get a cab to do the shopping once a week costing me 15 pound at a time. This i have cut out and i buy shopping on line once a week i now want to only buy the shopping on line once a month saving me 45 pound a month. I never take food to work so i end up paying 5 to 10 pound a day on food and drink. This i will be cutting out saving over 100 pound a month. I have cut out one gym membership saving 20 pound a month but i still spend over 100 pound a month training at 2 gyms. ( I don't drink or smoke and MMA is my passion) I plan to sell all unwanted DVDs, Cd's and bits we no longer want round the house. I all so waste a lot of money on comics for both kids, new papers and magazines for me. This i will be cutting out.

We are away in may the holiday is all paid up but i need spending money and 4 new passports for all of us at a cost of 280 pound.
I am all so looking to invest 500 pound in to a idea i have for making extra cash promoting club nights and selling t-shirts. The website is up and running and paid for. The 500 pound is for 100 tshirts and 10000 flyer's to get started. I will sell the tshirts for 10 pound each so if i sell all of them i double my money. I have sold about 30 already as soon as i get them printed. I was thinking of using my credit card that is clear to fund my idea that way i can keep track of what i spend and what i earn. What do you think?

All so would it be a good idea to use my over draft to pay of my credit card? My overdraft limit is 1500 and i am not in it yet and if i do use it i only get charged 12 pound a month.

I plan to clear up the credit card with the 1000 pound on first then cut it up and use the other 2 one for shopping (but pay off in full every month) the other to get my promotion of the ground.
While my debts are not a bad as others on this site my spending habits are. I know i need to sort this and if you have any ideas or comments please post them. If you require anymore information just ask. I all so want to try and have no spend days and save money where i can. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

  • Made a good start on sorting out my debts today. Using this site i have found someone who buys CD singles. I have a large collection i was going to dump as i thought they are now worth less but now even if i can get 10p a cd my collection is now worth over 100 pound. Clearing out all DVDs, books and household items we no longer use or want to sell. Set up both ebay and pay pal account so i can start listing all items. Making a monthly shopping list so we only use on line shopping once a month saving 30 pound a month. Will have to spend money tomorrow at shops for Veg for dinner but then plan to have a no spend day Monday and only spend 7 pound on Tuesday for my train fare to MMA training.

  • Posted 2 more items on e-bay last night and done a few hours overtime today. I have to wait until the end of Febuary before i get paid for it but at least it is money in the bank. Any overtime i now do the money will be put straight on my debts so i can clear them up faster. Didnt have a no spend today but will try for tomorrow and Saturday.
