my local (brighton) library do half price rentals on selected items, if you show your signing on card (other benefits may qualify, too)
£1 per week? beat that, blockbusters!

I don't believe we have that scheme here in my county,
but we still offer one week rentals for DVDs at £1, brand
new DVDs (within six weeks of release) at £2 for two nights
and children's DVDs at 50p for a week. We also sell DVDs
that have dropped in issue rates at £2.00 each. I'm awfully
biased, working for the Library Service, but a library is one
of the best places to rent or buy used DVDs!0 -
Oldham libraries rent all DVDs out for £1.55 a week.
In these stricken times the public libraries are the cheapest place to get new books from (FREE).
Use them or they'll be shut down.0
