Itchy Fingers Driving Me Mad!!!!

Hope someone can help really!
The last week or 2, I've had really itchy fingers. Well, between my fingers on my left hand but only between my little finger and ring finger and then between my ring finger and middle finger.
I wear a white gold ring on my ring finger, I've been wearing it for nearly 2 years so I can't see that it would be that? My mum suggested that I stop wearing my rings in bed but it doesn't seem to change anything.
Its just so itchy and becoming dry/peeling slightly.
I wash regularly, always wash my hands thoroughly after the toilet etc and dry them thoroughly. I haven't changed my soap or washing powder at all.
I'm pretty useless at moisturising but it doesn't seem to do anything when I do moisturise my hands
.
Does anyone have any ideas of what might help?

I had some itchy dry skin under my wedding ring a few months back. I stopped wearing my rings for a couple of weeks and applied E45 cream. That seemed to clear it up and stopped the itching.
I wash my hands regularly but don;t always dry them properly, think it was a bit chapped.

Have you ever had any reaction to any jewellery ever? Some allergies develop after prolonged exposure so it may be the ring. I used to be fine with nickel but now if I wear nickel earrings I want to scratch my ears off within half an hour.
Because of where the rash is it does sound like it is the ring. The other possibility could be that it was coated in something and this has worn off. Do you know if the ring contains any other metal apart from white gold?0 -
Thanks for your replies.
I haven't ever had any reactions to jewellery so I can't understand it. I'm not sure if its made of any other metal but I'll definitely look into it.
I think I might just have to take it off for a while and keep really moisturised, otherwise a trip to the doctors I think0 -
I've got 2 thoughts on this, my first one was chilblains. I thought you only got them on toes, but found out a couple of years ago that they occur on fingers.
Or, athletes foot.....now I've not had a google to see if you can get this between your fingers, but I don't see why not.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Have you been cleaning recently? Bleach does it to me when I use it a little too strong.
It could be the winter weather drying out your skin too?Princess Sparklepants0 -
My OH suffers with this. His trigger is rubber, which is not great as handling it is his job.
Anyway, he has had to take his gold wedding ring off as that too seemed to start irritating. He uses Aqueous cream as a hand wash - found poundland now stock this, a huge 500g tub for £1. He keeps it moist at all times whilst flared up with e45.0 -
Doesn't scabies occur between the fingers? Could it be that? If not I find Tea Tree Oil is brilliant for practically any sore/itchy/poorly bits of skin.0

will help stop the itching and moisturise aswell.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0
