my hubby uses his company credit card at sainsburys all the time and claims the nectar points himself?!?!?!? how dare he?!?!?

bl00dy hell man, why on earth would you go to the trouble of logging into your quidco account, searching for the retailer, waiting for the redirection etc etc and passing the money back to your employer ???:o

if the company arent happy with the price you pay for the travel arrangements (and the perks you receive for doing so) - ask them to book them for you.
am sure they would rather have you doing all the leg-work and reaping the small reward.

whats wrong with receiving perks for booking it yourself? getting a reward for using a company you would use anyway?!?!?.
am pretty sure the company you use wouldnt give that money directly as a discount to your employer.... so not as if they are out of pocket.

    madness

Just book the flights/hotels etc and take cashback when paid, your company hmrc etc wont find out. Ignore all the people who say you must delcare etc lots of employees claim points/cashback from supermarkets petrol stations etc
Where do you draw the line-
the person who buys all the tea/coffee/biscuits from tesco puts receipt in to claim money back.......and shock horror keeps the 25 clubcard points

    my thoughts exactly
  • Sunflower and Gardner1, thank you, you have restored my faith. And, I always get my fuel at a BP so I can claim nectar points. I think the difference was that it is supposed to be 'actual' cash, not points. I'll just do it, no one will know. That's if it actually works! I'll let you know, I'm a bit dubious about these cashback sites anyway.

LOL Meggsy, here's me getting all excited over 40 quid a week!

Don't get too excited. Even if your boss says you can keep the money there's no guarantee you will get it.

The companies who promise to pay also employ people to look for reasons not to pay you.

Often they will decline the payment for the slightest reason, and sometimes for no reason at all.

The main aim for offering the money is to bring in new customers, once they realise you are a regular customer anyway, there will be no reason to pay you. And no reason to pay you is a good reason for not paying you.

Read the quidco threads, there are many who never see their money.

That's a very cynical view! You don't go on a thread to say 'guess what, I've had my cashback', it's always the failures which get reported. I've had over 2.4k over 6 years and only 53.47 declined. Can't remember why for most ( - all at least a year ago, but I know one from Halfords was as they charged me £10 less than order due to problems with the till which meant the transaction took 30 mins. I'm pretty sure a few others were for items which had tracked incorrectly as I hadn't actually purchased.

We 'all' do it at our place and it has never been queried. However, I think I may raise with my boss. I always use something like hotelscomparison.com, pick my hotel and then book on whichever site is cheapest, regardless of cashback. I take a screendump of hotelsc each time so I can show if ever challenged. However, not sure I trust some of the team to do the same......., I can see them paying out £10 more if they would get an extra 20p cashback :o.

If you can only fly e.g. AirFrance on a particular route though then I don't see it is an issue.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I always put all my business expenses onto my credit card which pays cashback. You cynics out there - are you suggesting I should also be giving that cashback to my employer??

As far as I'm concerned, that cashback is not a 'discount'. It is an incentive for using an affiliate website that advertises products and services. Just as the cashback on my credit card is an incentive for using that payment method. My airmiles are for my personal use (and yes that means free / upgraded personal flights). It's all legit

Hope all you nay-sayers don't accept clubcard points / nectar on your petrol, nectar on your Ford service, freebies with petrol, cashback on your credit card. All of these have a value.
