I thank someone when they have answered a question I've asked, also anyone who posts something which I find useful, enlightening, new recipe etc. Plus I'll thank the last person on a thread so that it takes me back there next time I go on that particular thread, particularly if there are too many posts for me to actually read (that's the theory anyway, it doesn't always work!).
Having said that, I have no idea how many times I've been thanked as to be perfectly honest it's not something which really bothers me.0 -
I have a very good idea how many times I have been thanked in total on the forum because I can see if or when I go back to a thread to resume my reading. I very occasionally check who's thanked a particular post if I think I may have said something controversial which I didn't anticipate anyone agreeing with. Or, of course, if I imagine I've been particularly witty. Which is never as many as I think I deserved at the time. Serves me right0

If I am honest - I do that too! it gives one a good idea of whether one is totally out of order or people agree with you!
your sense of humour may be similar to mine bitterandtwisted, whenever I think I have been funny I have been amazed to find that folk have taken offense!0 -
Oh, I'm sorry, I very rarely even think about the thanks button and only tend to remember it when someone answers one of my posts. I just tend to skim read through. I feel really awful now. Also, I don't tend to notice who has thanked me because I don't go back and look. Esther xSecond purse £101/100

Esther - the thanks button isnt compulsory! although its nice to get thanks, if people dont thank me then I dont get upset! I just figure they are newbies or they only thank 'special' posts, or they dont use the thanks button! Its no big deal!0

What, that we both think we have a sense of humour but we're the only ones who think it? Hehe. More smilies are needed perchance. Just so the thickos or those who are actively seeking to be offended can be head off at the pass.
My mother once told me that I had "an unfortunate manner". Which was really saying something because we were exactly alike in that respect. Dry, very dry and verging on the sarcastic at all times.0
