I am setting up my own challenge for 2012 after years of spending way too much on toys for birthdays / xmas and gifts that many don't get used and I find they become dust collectors whilst making a big dint in my pocket and nowadays many want consoles and games which can be very costly . Whilst we still want to treat our children ..the idea of this challenge is to save money along the way and not get into debt and sell what toys , books and games you can in order to purchase new ones , which includes purchasing games & toys in advance sales before the prices go up or BOGOF etc , which will make celebrations more organized and always have presents for those last minute parties the children get invited to:o
All Welcome To Join ..anyone in ????
I will add you to the list if you have a set goal and to give each other ideas and support
I am setting myself a spending limit of £200 for 2012
This includes Birthday / Easter and Christmas presents for my daughter and all friends and relatives which are children that I have to buy toys for throughout 2012 . Also included is the amount spent on day trips { like gift shops at zoo's , school outings etc } and the cost of traveling extras like colouring books & pens
You can save vouchers for discounts , use points collected , purchase toys and games early in the sales , empty cupboards of toys and sell , purchase and sell from car boots ..all ideas welcome .
So ideally I need to save £4.00 a week to get £200 by December
I currently have four drawers in my dd's bedroom full of mc'donalds bits and mountains of figures etc that don't get used - So this is where I will start and will be listing a big bundle in the local paper and ebay as they will be useful for someone for party bag fillers

The aim is to Recycle / Sell and Save to reduce piles of toys in children's bedrooms and be organized for events such like Christmas with no extra spending.

Hiya keys,
Can I join please
I need time to think what my financial challenge on this one is though"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0
