My previous employer took me to court without me knowing :(

OP said in his 2nd post that the letter from his ex-employer came to his new address.

It is clear that the defendant did not pay within 30 days of the judegement, otherwise there would be no threat of bailiffs etc. Even if the defendant paid now, the judgement would stay on record for six years.
I am not sure of the exact steps to be taken, byt the defendant does not to challenge this if now summons was ever received. Based on what the defendant says, they are not seeking to dispute the amount and probably would have paid if they had received a summons.
So, I guess, the correct procedure would be to to back to the Court and ask the Court to set aside the judgement. The Claimant may then accept the defendants offer of payment by instalments or choose to go back to Court for immediate payment.0 -
If they have any of the letters with the incorrect address, I would have thought they would be in a position to dispute the CCJ, as they can demonstrate they did not apply for it correctly and were not notified correctly?0
