Default on Call Credit but not Equifax?

Hi All,
I usually use Call Credit Check, but tonight just wanted to have a nosey on Equifax, and a default listed on Call Credit Check is not listed on Equifax? Can you advise why this might happen? It was logged in 2011, June so I would have expected this to have appeared?
I am making massive efforts to improve my credit rating so thought I'd check both records.
Is either one more frequented by the other when doing credit searches?
Many thanks

Different lenders report to different credit agencies, some report to just 1, some to 2 and a few to all 3. And sometimes they will seach 2 but report to 1. Some will report to just 1, but if there is something negative (such as a default) will then additionally report to the others.
So very complicated really.
Experian is the largest and most used, equifax is nearly as large and callcredit is much smaller.
Presumably nothing in relation to the account appears on equifax? If the credit account appears on equifax but no default has been put on (and yet the account & default appear on callcredit) then I'd say it was an error on equifax.
Though quite a good error for you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy, great advice as always

Will have to get my experian file up at some point, allthough after seeing my not so LOVELY credit score of 262, I think I may leave it for just a few more months whilst I get things back in order before checking again! If only I could go back to the 20 year old me, and explain what those shiney cards really mean!

Based on the stats I've seen, around 60-70% of credit checks go through Experian, but it depends how you count them. As someone else said, some lenders consult more than one. I've still not seen a credit check on my Call-credit report since they launched in 2000, just a few ID checks. But you should certainly check all three agencies if you want to be comprehensive.

On my credit report every account I have is filed with Call Credit.
Experian have all but one filed, whilst Equifax only have about half of them filed.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000
