PLEase help me.....
I have been asked to apply for a local children's centre job as an ambassador and they have asked for my cv along with various other questions i need to answer.
they know i have done various volunteering jobs/groups since becoming a mum and have asked that my cv reflect this.
Now without sounding really thick and stupid here, how do I do this??? I haven't updated my cv since I stopped working in Feb 2011
do I put this in skills or write them out as if real jobs allbeit unpaid?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

Hi,
My situation is different but can be applied to you. I was at uni, have worked in various jobs irrelevent to my degree to earn money and have done volunteering in my field to gain expereince.
My CV goes
Career Aim
Further education-degree and description of stuff studied
Relevant experince- All my volunteering, 3 roles
Additional experience-Paid work for the last 5 years
Education/Qualifications-Summary of degree grade, A-Levels and GCSE's
Additions skills-Computer literate, Drivers licence.
I would list all of your employement as you will need to tell them that, but keep this brief if not relevent to the role.
Have the volunteering stuff under a title like Relevent Expereince, Volunteering, Extra skills something like that. Then for each thing treat it as you would a job, so the orgainisation, time period, job title, and a brief description of what you did there and was responsible for.
I have a line to describe the organisation and the place and then bullet point what I did there.
If the job required qualifications then have more space on those, if it is skills they are interested in, then keep qualifications basic and bullet point your skills, eg computer literation, teamworking, note taking, orgainsing volunteers or other staff, advertising for your charity, event planning etc.
For me, my degree is the most important followed by my volunteering, so they have the most space. I also have another CV for temp admin jobs, and on that my degree description is very basic, just stating that I have it and not alot of detail. The volunteering section is shortened, and I have expanded on the previous temp work I have done.
Give yourself plenty of time, try out 2 or 3 layouts, do one, leave it and then read it later. I think generally it shouldn't be longer than 2 pages.
Don't forget name address and phone number
If you get stuck I can look it over for you, but I only have internet until Sunday afternoon as I will be working away for 2 weeks.
Good luck
