I have never done any of these catalogues, but I was thoroughly put off Kleeneze by the distributor who didn't feel he was making enough through that means, and included an entirely separate and unconnected soft !!!!!! catalogue with the main one! I asked that one never to darken my door again!

If I was going to do anything like this I think I'd go for a party plan setup rather than a trudging the streets delivering catalogues setup. Warm and dry ... easier to decide when YOU will work ... but you'd almost certainly need a car, and somewhere to store your stock. No easy answers.

no, it all depends on circumstances ... the avon thing appeals to me because i'd be able to fit it in during the daytime when kids are at school, i can take the baby with me (and put the avon stuff in the shopping basket, much easier than carrying it lol!) and take my son with me in the school holidays i suppose. it all depends on getting a round with customers at home during the day. i wouldn't want to do a party plan type thing because it would be evening work - if i was going to take evening work i'd prefer it to be waged rather than commission and at the moment i don't really want to work evenings or weekends, i'm just looking for something small to do for pocket money during the times when my son's in school, without having to pay childcare for the baby/during holidays. some people wouldn't touch avon, it's hard work for very little pay, unless of course you get a good round. my last round went a bit awry because the person with the round next to mine had a lot of personal friends from church on my round so they ordered from her instead of me lol!

before getting my job at mcd's (school hours, term-time only) i was delivering the local free paper. it took around 4 hours i suppose and the pay depended on how many leaflets i'd had to insert. i did the leaflets at home and the actual delivery took around 90 minutes for the area. people laughed at me for doing what's seen as a 'kid's job' but it meant we could afford a treat every weekend with my pay (typically £13 per week) - the cinema, playbarn, waterworld, DVD rental etc. while they were always too short of money. i have no shame, i'll do pretty much anything for a few pennies if it's during the time i'd have been at home anyway. it means we get all our evenings and weekends as a family and have a little bit for treats :-)
