Advice needed re wages

Hi, i am a self employed bricklayer. Just before Christmas i did not get paid my wages (nor did any of the other brick layers!).
I work for a sub contractor who is contracting for a large building company.
Just looking for advice as he won't answer his phone to any of us. One guy even withheld the number, he answered and hung up!
Just before Christmas we were promised to get paid, which didn't happen. It was then emailed to us we would be getting a cheque, which didn't happen and then we was supposed to get paid into our banks today, which again, didn't happen.
The contractor has since been kicked of site for bad workmanship. We have been kept on direct due to our good workmanship
What can I do?

If you are self employed then you'll have to go through small claims courts I would guess.

If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
