Its all in the construction of the trainers, the soles predominantly. I'd scan the leaflet for you if I still had it but I read it and ripped it up. When just walking or running, the trainers help tone the thighs, calves and butt. I read all the stuff and looked it up online. Also good anti-shock protection for knees (which I was looking for re: jogging) so all round good if toning trainers are what you are seeking.

Thank you very much, tried a pair of skechers tone ups on today (£55!) (that said they did what you have said) and just wanted to check they were the same thing.

I've had them on since they arrived (almost 6 hours now) I can barely feel am wearing them but my legs feel great! I'll road-test them with running later with the Wii. but I am sure you will be delighted and that is some saving on the price you saw them at in town huh
