Here we go again!!!!!!

I hate January!!!! - all of the christmas joy starts draining away and leaving the reality of how much i shouldn't have spent and how much weight i shouldn't have gained .

Actually i don't really hate January, i just wish it didn't feel as there are at least 104 days beween December & January Payday, as DD1 has started repeating back to me - yes i know mum there's more month than money.

Anyway, super quick runthrough of moi's situation, married mum of two (work part time) who had cleared her debt last year and then quickly gathered some more - yay - NOT!!
I still haven't got to grips with why i seem determined to make my life harder than it should be by

A. Getting rid of debt and feeling upbeat, then something is an absolute 'must have' and i fall completely off the wagon and go on a spending spree ( 'well i've slipped up so may as well do it in style' mentality)
B. Exactly the same with weight loss - lose weight feel fab then scupper my own success and binge and put it on again then feel like poop ( by the way feeling poop atm!!)

Well i guess it is January, start of a fresh new year and i may as well get back on the losing weight/debt bandwagon - such a fab time to start!

So i have around £1500 spread over 2 credit cards, (paid off the third this week) that i really want to get shot off, intending to carry on ebaying as i have done for the last few years, carry on baking to sell from home for friends/family and streamline grocery shopping to start with - winning the lottery would be far easier but hey i won't hold my breath!! oh and i've got 3 stone to lose:eek:
I've followed slimming plans before with little long term success as too restrictive so i think i'm goin the paul mckenna route this week - don't deny yourself anything as it's instantly what you crave, eat only when you're hungry, stop when you're full (how will i cope without the cosy i'm so stuffed i could be sick feeling??? lol) and eat conciously (when you're sat down focusing on the fact your eating rather than scoffing a cream cake whilst cleaning the loo:rotfl:)

So we'll see where this road takes me - maybe to finally shift my bad habits, financial & otherwise...............

  • Brrrrrrr - it's a cold and frosty one this morning!!

Well, i thought it best to do a revised monthly income/expenditure in light of our outgoings having changed due to recently moving and it was a bit of a shocker to see how little margin there is (prices going up, wages staying the same) - i'm currently paying £100 a month on debt repayment (2 x credit cards + 1 x store catalogue) but it needs to be more!!, 1 x credit card is 0% for a while yet - the other with the lesser amount is regular interest so needless to say i want to get shot of that one asap, the catalogue bill again has chargable interest if it's not paid off within the interest free time (which it won't be)

I'm going to have to have a look around the forum at household cost cutting, i know already that i can easily save on my food shopping if i start cooking more ( i fluctuate between being really focused with money saving and then losing control, so i know what i should be doing!!) and our energy bills are high (even though on best area deal) as is our water bills (water meter)

I understand how i've got in this mess but even when it's paid off we're still gonna have little money left after our monthly expenses - which is a tad depressing!! but hey ho, gotta get on with it i guess.

Anyway, had a free day out with the family yesterday, the south west was sunny and cold, perfect day for getting out and about, so visited a newly opened museum and took packed lunch = NSD - yay!

Back to work today and would have been a nsd if i didn't have to buy bread! but hey if that's all i'm going to spend then its a massive improvement on what i would normally be spending!

    xx
