well kids off for in service days going to take ds on a mystery tour of the local castles as part of his school project .
i'm sitting here thinking about stuff in general ,since i cut back on stuff in general we at least have money in the bank and childbenefit has been left alone this month,to start an emergency fund .if i get this second job not so much if as when hopefully then i'm hoping to start saving for the kids uni fund .
the difficulty i face at the moment is if offered both jobs do i take 12 hrs nhs 24 at probably £1000 ++ a month working weekends and bank holidays or 12hrs practice nursing roughly £600 however will make me almost full time during the week and hopefully will just mean mil will need to collect them on a wed as well as a thursday
family time is the most important thing to me you see but the money from nhs24 is very good as its all unsocial but you work all the bank holidays so we will be unable to caravan ,however at the moment we cant aford to do lots of that anyway .
    decisions decisions eh !

ahh wonder if anyone will be along today to share their thoughts ,any advice welcome .i think i just need to stay focused on the task in hand and try and put every penny spare to this card .the overtime world seems to have shrunk to nothing no shifts from the nurse bank whatsoever its galling .in nursing it was always easy to find extra work not anymore it seems .hopefully something will come up soon i just want this card gone . i have had the oppertunity before to take on shifts ironic eh .
i think my panic is that for whatever reason if one of us could not work the other could not maintain our current debts .dd is starting high school and want to build a fund for her for uni so i have 6 yrs to do this ,and ds has just taken up wrestling which might turn into an expensive hobby (he thinks career age 9 ) who knows if you dont give them the chance.

I have just read through you diary and you seem very focused well done thats half the battle.
If i was you i would bite the bullet go for the higher paid job clear the card and then you can reduce the hours once the debt is cleared it wont be forever.
Trust me my DS is 16 now and im sure he would only miss me if i didnt keep filling the cupboards with food :rotfl:
    MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)

thanks here we go ,i know someone who works at nhs24 and she says staff retention is an issue seemingly people are going on the induction course as it basically gives them 3000 in 6 weeks and then they leave. i'm with you on the clear your card as quick as but oh works away a lot and it could mean farming the kids out a lot .
the other job could also mean a more longer term solution to our debt but will i ever reduce my hors down once i take the extra probably not .
i'm going to follow through on both watch this i will end up doing 30 hours a week at hs 24 lol if you are going to lose your weekends you may as well take all the money :D
