Thanks growurown i didnt realise that, do stepchange not get a copy from the creditors too? Or should i be informing stepchange of interest charges? Sorry if being thick!

Hi, HH and TTFTM have replied already but I have heard of cases where people get to the end of their DMP only to find out that they still owe money because of added charges and interest they didn't know about or check up on. Some people phone their creditors every month to get an update. It's up to you really to manage. Some of my creditors still send me monthly statements (which I check to see if they have changed anything) but some don't. I never hear anything from my Capital One card so I check to make sure they haven't started charging again.

Can I be part of the spreadsheet geek club as well :D

Ronniesmummy yeh for not getting any calls text or letters:j

I got a letter today from HSBC but I know they won't yet have received my token payment or have been informed about the DMP. So I shall just wait until the letters arrive:o

I'm hoping I can keep track of totals on line, unless they stop you from accessing your account when your on a DMP or is that not the case, sorry I always have loads of questions:o
It's seems to be my latest thing instead of worrying how I'm going to pay everything I'm worrying about everything else.
I'm sure it's going to get easier once creditors have agreed to payments.
I for one can't wait to update my signature no matter how small the reduction.

Keep youself incharge of that balance each month.

All welcome in spreadsheet club and everywhere else here for that matter, cliques not allowed!

Looking forward to seeing your signature update. Celebrating each others milestones keeps us all going.

Talking of milestones, TTFTM over 25% - how does that feel?

I think you are doing all the right things! I am at a similar stage - just made first payment to stepchange on Feb 1st. I have still been able to access online banking with HSBC since if that helps. My debt lies around the same as yours - I need to organise one of these signature things

I have tried to contact all my creditors early - either by email or phone to put them in the picture. It seems to have helped because so far I have either had the payment plan accepted, or been given a certain amount of days (varies from 38 to 60 days) for a plan to be set up (interest and charges are frozen for this period)

I was going to go down the route of ignoring all calls but this seems to have worked for now and I don't appear to being hassled (famous last words!)

I was going to contact all creditors who hadn't yet agreed to a plan on a weekly basis to see where they were at with it all. If nothing else it shows them that I am engaging with the process!

I think it is really important to find the way that suits you - there is no one size fits all thing here, thats the benefit of this forum, you can pick up some really good tips - I know I do!
