Inhibated Account Query

After seperating from my husband last year I asked my bank for their help with regards our joint account because I found out that my husband was taking large amounts of money from the account. This caused the account to go overdrawn, so I asked if the account could be frozen. The bank informed me that they would inhibate the account and no money could be taken out or put into the account. They told me that arrangements would need to be made to pay the outstanding amount and I informed them that because of the circumstances I couldn't afford to pay the amount required and that my husband has an agreement with payplan for his outstanding debts. I have since noticed that interest and overdraft charges are being taken from they inhibated account and would like to know if this is allowed as they are forcing me into further debt?
At the time of inhibating the account I was told that they could arrange a payment scheme for myself and my husband but I haven't received any paperwork just a phone call demanding a payment is made. Your help or advice would be very much appreciated.

They are allowed to continue to charge interest & charges whilst the money is owed. They may agree to freeze it if you write explaining your circumstances and offering a repayment you can afford.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
