I am currently in the process of reclaiming my bank charges and it seems to be taking forever. I am claiming charges of approx £1300.00 and intended to pay off my overdrafts with the bank im claiming against when i received my refund. At the moment I am paying approximately £18.00/month in interest and service charge on these accounts but am not in a position to repay the O/Ds and close the account, so ive been searching around and wondered if this would help

Turning a credit card into a loan article.

I have applied successfully for an egg money card, and now wonder what would be the best 0% interest balance transfer card.
I intend to follow the instructions and borrow £850.00 off the 0% BT card and pay off my egg card (leaving that with a balance of £850.00 CR, then withdraw the £850 to pay off my overdraft, leaving me with only one balance of £850.00 on my 0% balance transfer card.

Could anyone tell me roughly what the minimum payment would be? I will be paying the balance off as soon as I get my money back off my bank charges reclaim, this should be within the next 12 months as I started the process of reclaiming my unfair bank charges in September 2006 and handed in my AQ on 2nd December 2006 and been told I will probably get a date set in court for April/May 2007.

  • where are you in the process of claiming your charges back?

As a rough guide the higher the amount being claimed the longer it will take for them to settle - it seemed to drag on forever when I was claiming £2K from natwest but natwest gave me £700 with a fortnight of asking for my charges back.

Personally I think you will get your charges back soon as they seem to be willing to make an initial offer once the questionnaire has been submitted.

Well done. I am claiming charges of £935.00 + interest + court costs totalling approximately £1300
