    Hi Macgirl

Thanks for the good wishes! I need them all. I literally had them on for about half an hour in the shop walking backwards and forwards..... Walking away felt good though!

I do really need to cut down as far as possible on the spending on clothes and stuff as I too can justify with the best of them. I think that really I just need to stay away from the shops to be honest or go with cash when I have saved. Last year we had got really good at having the cash first and then going and buying and I need to get back to that as all too often at the moment I am just buying and worrying later. I was thinking about going to get the free Clinique mascara and do you know what I don't think I will. Parking will be £2.50 and I may well get tempted to buy something else which I imagine is the idea:rotfl:

Going to spend some time down the park with my kids instead.

    Take care

We have lots of strays around, and the microchip cat flap has been brilliant. In fact I have the cat from upstairs trying to get in through it for a cuddle as we speak, and failing miserably.

I might have to go outside and give him a scratch as he is started to sound very forlorn, the cheeky little b*gger!

You had them on for half an hour AND WALKED AWAY??!!
Yep, I agree that staying away from the shops is key or failing that shopping with cash - cards *are* too easy. I'm away with work next week and was planning my duty free cosmetic spends when I got my itinerary and realised that the airport we leave from doesn't sell mac - phew!

So glad to hear that the cat flap has been good, only worry is that our boy Oz, tends to put a paw in first so hoping enough of his head will get in at the same time to open it. Reviews have been great for it so good to hear that online here as well. Hubby has just walked through the door to the smell of cat wee! I can't smell it anymore but then I have been trying to clean it since about 6pm!! Washed with fairy and water and coated it in bicarb to see if that will take the smell off - it was recommended on a forum and my bicarb was out of date so it made sense to me!! Just off to hoover it off to see the result! Then will put hubbys nose to the test again!

    An expensive night!

P.S. On the plus side I will probably save a fortune in cat biscuits - we go through them at a rather alarming rate, I reckon I am feeding half the street. Its odd that we have only had this problem now although hubby thinks that this stray got shut in the house and sprayed in the study, although just on a wall so easily fixed. Not sure why they do this stuff unless poor old Oz has just decided to give up - this cat is HUGE!

Yep macgirl, half an hour. The lady in the shop really thought that she had me, and she nearly did. Luckily this particular shop doesn't do sale refunds at all, if she had said that they would have done a refund the post might have been slightly different.....

    Hi there everyone

Good day today but did succumb to a take away which is our first one in weeks. I had to work so late that the thought of having to cook something just wasn't very enticing. Knackered after a long week and looking forward to a weekend of fun and frolics. Only spent about £1 apart from the naughty take away and no online spends (which is probably where I am worst!).

No more cat incidents although poor old Oz is like a cat on a hot tin roof. He keeps peering out of the cat flap to see if nasty cat is there!! Poor love! Cat flap should arrive and be fitted by Monday afternoon - I just hope it all works now!

P.S. Shhh - don't tell Oz he's going to the vet tomorrow for the chip!
  • Hiya, it must be driving you mad if anther cat keeps breaking in - I am typing this whilst one of our cats tiptoes across the sitting room floor, trying not to wake the dog. It didn't work and now they having a staring competition :rotfl::rotfl:

I don't blame you, Friday nights are definitely for chilling and relaxing, so takeaway sounds like a good reward.

Have a good weekend - January seems to be whizzing by.

    Hi Tilly

It's driving me nuts. I am very very house proud so it's just my worst nightmare! Anyway, will be sorted out by Monday and our cat will have his own house back! Takeaway was unplanned but I hadn't bought the dinner for tonight, having planned to get the ingredients on the way home. Right off to do a spot of menu planning. Going to go for £100 only spend on food this week Tilly so wish me luck!

P.S. Have a great weekend yourself.

    Hi everyone

So, I have been meal planning like there is no tomorrow. Weekly shop has come to £48 (and that included £4 of shampoo on special!). I still need to go to the butcher (probably £15) and pick up a few things that were missing on the shop (probably another £15) so at the moment I am at approx £78. Very pleased with that although sure I have added something wrong!!

Going to batch cook one meal whilst I make our supper for Monday in an attempt to save time.

Still need to address ebay, which I kind of love and hate... Shoes this week I think, with the cold weather I think old boots/coats of the children's might do ok.

Still need to tackle the kitchen. Might start on that one now.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

  • Morning SJ1, so £22 left from £100 on the food bill - you must be delighted and not only that, it means if the same could be achieved each week, that's £88 a month, over £1k in a year. I wasn't setting you a challenge in the previous sentence, just that I find it helps my brain to see an annual amount.

Hope you enjoy your menu planning and that you find you have more time in the evenings.

    Have a good week, Tilly
