Marriott or Hilton rewards scheme

I would like to pick everyone brains and see what the general feeling is between these 2 loyalty schemes. I have a new job which will see me staying in hotels 3-4 nights a week for the next 8-12 months. Having the choice of where i stay im looking at committing to one of the two chains (Marriott or Hilton) and racking up the rewards points.
Does anyone know which, if any is better between the two.

The people at Flyertalk will give you better opinions.
IMHO I use Holiday Inns and its Priority Club awards.
Very easy to get to Platinum (top tier -though the perks this gives can be minimal) but easy to get free nights with all the points

Holiday inn is good but one of the main reasons im choosing Marriott or Hilton is so i can save up points for free nights to use at holiday destinations and the these chains are more global and holiday friendly destinations. My company will be paying for the hotel so the price of the rooms is not an option. But looking at the rewards programmes there doesnt seem to be much different.0

Accor, who have the A|Club is good also. They run Mercure, Novotel, Ibis, Sofitel, etc.0

Hilton
(But I am not biased because i work there!honest!:rotfl:)0 -
Marriott hotels are superior to Hilton every time............
Also, when you are about to start a run of stays, ring up Marriott Rewards and register for the Marriott trial.
That gives you Platinum status for three months and if you stay the requisite number of nights in 3 months, you stay at Platinum until the end of the following year.
Platinum pretty much guarantees you upgrades, Executive Floor, Better points earning and so on.
IMHO although the Priority Club is a better system, I don't really enjoy staying in Holiday Inns or Crowne Plaza.
But then, I am a Princess :happylove
*adjusts crown*
Marriott beds are 'to die for', like sleeping on a cloud...
blindman makes a good suggestion that you trot over to Flyertalk as they will be abuzz with Hotel points chat there.
Hope that helps!

Holiday Inn is one of the largest chains of hotels in the world...
I would choose Marriott because Holiday Inn's are generally only 3 star hotels, although of course with HOliday Inn it includes all IHG hotels and Crowne Plaza's tend to be nice and have more character than Marriott's (IMO). It really depends though on where you're going to be staying, Marriott's all tend to be the same with a few notable exceptions but service varies considerably in all of the hotels. Hilton I don't really rate at all but then I had two bad experiences there and never bothered to go back so I'm not the best judge.0
