Can anyone offer advice?

Hi, I have been searching for a new mortgage deal for a while...

Myself and husband's current mortgage deal has expired and as a consequence the payments have increased, we have been looking to re-mortgage and release some more equity.

We currently have approx 69% LTV and would be looking at approx 80% LTV, increase will be for consolidation. Our salary is £42k (Joint) and we'd be looking to borrow £175k, our credit files are perfect except for one arrangement to pay in February 2011, this was unexpected as we informed our lender that payment would be made a couple of days late and received this for our efforts

Can anybody recommend a deal or offer advice?

Late payment is just that. The purpose of a credit report is to warn others of potential issues . So as unfair as it may seem. It is accurate.

Suggest you pay a visit to the Debt Free Wannabe board. As consolidation while the easiest option to go for doesn't solve the issues. Plenty of advice and support on there.
  • Thanks Thrugelmir, there are no issues as such, was just a change in payment date, I know it is right just felt unfair as if we had just been late (and not notified them) we may not have had the bad mark.

We feel that the best way to go is to re-mortgage as our deal has expired anyway, just wondering if anyone knows of any lenders who may turn a blind eye to this one blip?
