I don't know if this would work for you as I don't know your circumstances, but a friend of mine makes quite good money out of babysitting - both through an agency and privately. She takes her laptop with her and asks if she can use the internet (most people have wireless) and gets a pile of on-line chores and work done while she's there!0

How much time do you have to raise the money? Is the 3 month period starting right now or do you have some month before you need the money?

hello! have a de clutter at home and sell anoy unwanted books, cds or dvds on zapper. you will be glad of the space when the baby comes as you will probably get soo many gifts. ummm sort out any old unwatned clothes and sell them to clothesforcash. dont get much but better than nothing, you can get £18 a bag or more depending on weight, and again gives you loads of free space. hope this helps a little! good luck

Hello!
Here are a few suggestions and some things that I do...
I comp, like it's a part time job but only for the things I need or want and usually save myself and the family a fair bit of money on food, clothes, luxury items. It's not a guaranteed income though but it's more rewarding than watching TV!
Use cashback sites or shopping reward schemes for every purchse, I have a sainsburys local as my corner shop and must make about £2 in points each week just buying milk and bread so it soon adds up.
Buy things in bulk and batch cook, try and go to a local market before it closes and you can get some mega bargains from the greengrocers as they just have to throw it away if they can't sell it all to save storage! I got a 6KG box of tomatoes for £1 perfect for making ragu for a few meals!
Use coupons where you can, some manufacturers ones will deduct the RRP from your shopping which is usually more than the product it's for meaning you save more on the final bill. This thread is great for getting coupons but always make sure what you say is genuine!
Write letters to magazines, even if it's just about something you did/did not like on TV they can pay from £10 per published letter depending on what magazine it is!
If you're crafty/arty you could sell your handmade wares no folksy/etsy or offer some kind of service to people that you can do from home maybe babysitting for family/friends kids if you're not too tired. What job did you do before you went on maternity leave? You could get some inspiration from that maybe, it's easier to stick to something that you know as it helps you make money in a more productive way (Don't learn a new skill in order to make money just use the ones that you have got!)
I dont do this anymore as I could not take it seriously enough...(teehee) but I was a chat operator when my son was smaller, it fitted round most things and if the 'net had been about when he was baby-small then I would have probably done it, it's easy money if you can do it! There is a really good therad about it in this section somewhere but I can't remember the name of it :S Sorry.
Some other suggestions are doing ID parades for the police, Focus Groups (on and off-line) Also if you have the time or can be bothered, go back to the last page of this section and read the posts that interest you, there are some really good ideas buried in there that no-one even mentions any more!
Good luck with it all! Who knows you could even end up being an SAHM in the end!0 -
You could try looking at doing surveys and so forth online, and also maybe use cashback sites to boost things a bit - they won't help a lot but I'm guessing you'll have a few bits to buy for the new baby therefore you might be able to save a few bob using cashback for things like this. - Try www.cashonthenet.co.uk you'll find a few ideas there of different sites which do cashback and surveys and things as well as a few more ideas for earning on the net.
Also, what about renting out your parking space or garage if you have one? - can be particularly lucrative so I'm told if you live near a railway station.0 -
Ah thanks everyone, there is some brilliant tips. My smp stops in may so i will have june july and august with no money
we have looked at our bills and reduced our outgoings as much as possible and limited our spending. I was a customer service advisor for a bank before maternity leave and have lots of practical experience in retail insurance finance and love to craft. I think i just need to think smarter. i would love to be a sahm but need to go back to work at least one day a week to keep my share options available
. Thanks for all the advice though. Im off to make so money. 0 -
Hi
I did the following:
Created an ebay account
Attended car boot sales regularly
Bought some domain names
Took part in online paid surveys:
https://www.panelopinion.co.uk - this is my favourite survey website, it is simple but effective and I have won a lot of money on here...You can withdraw your money when you get to £10 and it doesn't take that long to build up a good amount.
https://www.valuedopinion.co.uk - this website is good because they frequently have new surveys, which means you can qualify for them more often.
https://www.toluna.com - same as valuedopinion
https://www.surveyfriends.co.uk - this website rewards you with vouchers and prizes, which seem VERY easy to win lol. During 2012 I have already won a £50 amazon voucher and a £10 ticketmaster voucher and my friend won a 40" HD TV just before xmas. I am recommending this website based on our recent and previous success
I have joined numerous other survey sites but have had the most success with the ones above.
Remember: Never pay to join any survey site - its often a scam
Good Luck:eek: 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0 -
