You might expect it - but it wouldn't happen! The fact that you would expect it is one of the things that would stop you doing it! Although I am sure that being an honest person would be the first reason why you wouldn't do it.
You were not in this employment for long. I don't normally advocate lying, but I would just leave it off your CV and applications if you can. Provided you can be trusted neber to accidentally mention it at work of course!0 -
The husband and wife own the shop? I am guessing the reason they called the police is becuase they prob knew there was nothing you stole but wanted to make an example of you. IF they were sure you had stolen they would have just searched you and sacked you on the spot.
Please tell me that is a joke!!! What sort of employer would do that and why ?An example of what ?
Its not a problem, because I didn't take anything, but I was never made aware of them searching my bag & coat previously, so I was shocked when the police turned. This by the way was done out the front of the shop in full view of members of the public - utterly humiliated for no reason.0 -

Write to them, outlining the events that occurred - the false accusation made to the Police, the admission (in front of the Police, you note), that she had been through your belongings repeatedly and in your absence. Conclude with the legal points previously outlined. Finish by asking them what they have to say on the matter and send Recorded Delivery.
Hopefully, if they think that it may all go pear shaped, they may cut a deal and pay you off."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
A further thought - how were you paid? Any paperwork at all? Cash in hand, or personal (rather than business) cheque? Perhaps HMRC should be looking at them ..."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Thanks, that is what i thought about holidays question - nice business for employer to take people on and then if they grumble or ask about holidays - get the police and humiliate them - I think they are bright enough to know so long as they do it before 12 months is up for each employee, they know there is nothing anybody can do !!
I think the law should stop this kind of thing happening.0 -

This probably isn't the point to mention that it will be two years from April0 -

The internet is a wonderful resource for anyone wishing to gain revenge on someone (nudge nudge).0 -
I would suspect there is more going on. Does the husband have a bit of history with female employees possibly?0
