Late payment question

Just a thought really....
On my experian 'thingy' I have a late credit card payment from 2010. Does that class as a default? it was for a small value card, will that make a difference. and how much of an effect will that have on me in the future? I'm looking to get on the property ladder in the next couple of years.

No a late payment isn't a default - a default would clearly show on the file and have a default date marked (and is usually after people are 3+months behind with payments).
Thats just a missed payment and if its the only one on there then it shouldn't cause you problems.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
