can my daughter claim JSA

My daughter is a supply teacher registered to an agency but has had no work since last July, is she entitled to claim benefit, she thinks she can'.t

    If she is on a low income and working less than 16 hours and looking for new work then yes she can claim job seekers allowance.

    I think it will depend on her contributions. She would get her stamp paid if nothing else.

    The golden rule with agencies is to go straight down the job center and sign on as soon as a temp job has ended if there isn't another lined up to start.

    By not doing this she has now missed 6 months NI contributions even if she ended up not being entitled to any JSA payment.

    Depending on NI paid then she may be able to claim contributions related JSA for up to 6 months or if no saving and doesn't meet the contributions based criteria then can claim income based for as long as she is looking for work
