Our german and french friends cant do a damn thing about it. banker on bbc breakfast said as rome burns those in charge are fiddling about. she is right. meeting after meeting is an excuse for a nice dinner and some wine nothing else. greece is the euro downfall and 2012 isnt gonna be pretty

Although it's unlikely that the euro will continue in its present form, it seems unlikely that there will be major disruption to economic activity within the EU.
There seems to be little downside of Greece leaving the euro and many upsides; probably the same is true of Portugal, Spain, Ireland and possibly Italy.
Obviously it would need proper management but it's only a currency after all.0
