How long before penicillin starts to work??

Hi

I have a throat / chest infection and have been on Penicillin since Saturday but dont feel any better at all if anything a little worse, how long before they start to work or should I go back to the docs?

24 - 48 hours usually. But it will only work if the bacteria involved are sensitive to penicillin, and it won't work at all if the infection is viral.

Going back is your decision and should be based on how you feel - not what unknown people on the internet say.

Thanks for that, I think I will try and see the Dr again as still feeling really poorly.
