i am looking to join a gym in glasgow city centre or the southside. Does anyone have any reccomendations and any idea on prices as most websites you go to they dont tell you the price seems like a very secretive thing

There is a newish one in the city center - PureGym which doesn't require a contract, you just pay monthly. Quite a few of the people in my office use it and say it is clean and good equipment. there also seems to be a good selection of classes to attend if that suits you.

I'm a member of the local authority one in my area which suits me fine as I get access to all their gyms/pools and classes so I can't comment personally but have heard good things.

This is the pure gym link

I've also heard you can get a one day pass to try it out first - may be worthwhile

There is the Glasgow Club as well, which would give you access to all of their facilities around Glasgow. But it'd really depend on what you wanted/needed out of a gym in terms of facilities and classes, etc.

In the city centre there's Caledonian University gym, good range of classes and instructors
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

I would also highly recommend pure gym. I have been a member for a few months now and am really enjoying it. It is a busy gym but has just been extended and there's so much equipment that you never need to wait to get on anything. No pool but very reasonable at only 17.99 a month. Plus there's no contract so you can cancel whenever.
