Many car companies has tie ups with the insurance companies or banks so that they can help customers in case of financial problem. So concern with any person who relate with company or dealer. I think you will get proper information in showroom or the dealer.

Yes. Always trust the car dealer. That sounds like a good plan.

It will loose a lot of value at the end of the year, thats why Im selling my mk6 due to the new model coming out.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I got a golf bluemotion from a vw dealer close to me in Ayr, Scotland, i've had some problems in the past and got accepted for my finance on their Solutions plan no problem, as others have said if you don't pay they'll just take the car(s).
I wasn't sure and was quite weary when applying but in the end it went through no bother, didn't even get referred for a decision, straight through, which for me was a relief.

You won't know till you try, hope this helps.

with a 5k deposit i would just get a average 2nd hand car the novelty of a new one soon wears off much faster than the 48 paments that need paying thereafter , and thats coming from experience ive had the flashy hatchbacks and top of the range 4x4s now do my 6k mileage a year in a standard cmax but save a absolute fortune
  • I know I always say this, but with £5k I could buy my car twenty times over.

Not suggesting you get a 'banger' like me, but you could get a whole lot of damn decent car for £5k.

I have a Golf MK6 and it is a fantastic car, however, since I purchased it in June 2010, I have lost £8000! which is heart breaking. I will never purchase a brand new car again. Thats for the Golf. As for the Sirocco, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase that as they are holding their value extremely well.

Why not look at a pre-owned Golf MK6 and perhaps purchase the Sirocco brand new. There is a downside, being that you will have a higher interest rate on the Golf as you cannot get the 4.9% finance. It is only available to new purchases.

I have driven both and I would recommend looking at the Golf with either the 122TSI, 140TDI or 170TDI. The Sirocco is also available with the same engines. The 1.4 122TSI is an extremely good engine and economical as well. The 2.0 170TDI is a great engine, however, the only thing that I would say about the new VW Diesel line up is that they fell a bit flat.

Just to add I was 20 when I applied to VW with very little credit history apart from a Tesco Loan for my previous MK5 Golf. I was accepted with no issues.

Some decisions to make - what ever you buy you will not be disappointed. :j
  • I've been driving a W reg Renault Laguna for the last 14 months (I gave up a company car when I moved jobs), I paid £1,000 for it and it's done 19,000 miles in that time. I've replaced 4 tyres and had it serviced, and it needed a new shock absorber, it's never missed a beat. Sadly it's costing too much in petrol so I need a diesel, the Renault is due a timing belt change and it won't last forever, so biting the bullet now as there are good offers on at VW.

If I don't get credit I will just buy a newer diesel though.
