Normally dont have a problem with them - have spent thousands on my ARGOS CARD and utilised the interest free terms wherever possible.
However - this Christmas was a nightmare.
THEY ARE A SHAMBLES.
Ordered loads of stuff at end of November. Youngest son's main present (table tennis table) did not arrive - ARGOS said it did. Offered to send out proof of delivery within 7 days. This was less than a week before Christmas.
I had no choice but to accept it would not arrive on time.
I had at that point taken 3 days of my work - I had spent over 2 hours on the phone (generating further income for the ####ers ) - and yet today - the 9th January still no contact - still no table.
Phoned just there and it appears there has been a huge breakdown in processing my complaint - huge as in absolutely nothing has been done about it. I now have to wait a further 7 days before we can move this forward.
I am raging. I will be writing to the Customer Services dept with a fullsome complaint - however - I just have to let it out.............. shouting alert:
NEVER AGAIN.

I have had a few issues when ordering for home delivery , in regard to non existent delivery times. they have always been ok on the phone if you take no prisoners, demand to speak to a supervisor and one in the uk at that and you should be sorted.
one more thing argos tend to sell things they claim on the website the have in stock, i have ordered things only to be emailed or called a few days later to be told it could be at least a month they really don#t know.
I am guessing what they do is pile up the orders on a monthly basis, then order them from china on a container so they don't have a stockpile in the uk0 -
Yes - maintaining turnover and reducing capital stockholding seems to be the name of the game for them and is good 'business practice'. But to claim they have delivered a £150 full size tabletennis table before Christmas and completely ignore the customer thereafter is really 'sharp practice'.
I take your advice on the contact details - I have been given a name from their customer services centre at 'Argos Action Gate' in Stafford - not sure how helpful she will be.0 -
Ah Argos I hate their delivery service. A few times I'm rung to find my item wasn't even on the truck! Now they have gotten rid of their morning/afternoon timeslots due to too many customers and can only give 7am-8pm! They have 1.5hrs to deliver my item today and they better be on their way!0

I too would never use Argos online again. I ordered my OH's Christmas present for delivery on the ONLY day that anyone would be in all day, a Monday. It did not turn up so expected it to arrive the next day, probably when we were all out. Still no sign by afternoon so called them, told it should have been on as it was ready for delivery, and it would definitely arrive the next day (Wednesday). No sign of it on Wesnesday so called them at the latest time possible at their call centre and asked if I could pick it up so they said take the confirmation and they would call the store and tell them. Went to pick it up on the Saturday the one they had reserved for me was there waiting, the store called them to confirm everything, and it was out for delivery!!!!! They cancelled that bit and I picked up the one from the store (at great inconvenience I might add).
Only upside was that I emailed to complain and was given a £15 gift voucher as compensation. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
in partial defence of Argos real peeps, rather than online.. i was after something in one store which had sold out, but the clerk offered to check stock in another store in town (available), and reserve it for me..
cant remember what it was, but there are some good folks out there!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
I agree - the store staff are first class.0
