no icome and no benefits

My daughter gave up her job as a shop assistant to move in with her fianc! who lives in 150 miles away.
Since moving she has been unable to obtain employment and because she resigned her position she has been told she does not qualify for Job-seeker-allowance. The bottom line is she has no income.
Her fianc! has had various part-time jobs but is presently unemployed.
They live in a rented flat. They both have mobile phone with long contracts and utility bills etc to pay.

Is there anything they can claim by way of benefit or emergency loan or do to reduce their bills that could tide them over until work is available ?

Kind regards

Boothstown
